It is practiced from a nonconformist stance that allows one to think outside inherited frameworks. Imaginary emancipation is the human mind\u2019s ability to envision desirable alternatives; it leads to self-determination. It is both an individual and a collective practice. Imaginary emancipation is a vital act of existence, the expression of a unique perspective on the world, the expression of the life within us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

indiscipline<\/summary>\u201cIt is the catalyst for creation, freedom, and a shift in perspective. Indiscipline cannot be organized. It is an attitude, a stance, a state of mind that can certainly be encouraged or curbed, but cannot be instituted. Indiscipline cannot be decreed. It lies at the heart of the entire history of creation, though most of the time without fanfare. Its full scope is recognized only in retrospect.\u00a0
It is difficult to teach indiscipline, even though it is often the indirect result of one\u2019s upbringing and one\u2019s approach to thought and knowledge. Indiscipline is as necessary to the disciplines as it is to interdisciplinarity. Of course, interdisciplinarity does not exist in and of itself; it also draws on knowledge and always manifests itself in relation to existing traditions. Nevertheless, it is the emergence of that unexpected freedom of spirit that makes it possible to shift a problem, a way of seeing, an assumption, or a tradition. It always unsettles and disturbs because of its inspired nature. Its strength lies in not depending on a specific field or tradition, but rather on a mindset, and this is the true driver of change.
Discipline is most often viewed as a threat, because it leaves possibilities open.
Finally, we must never forget the role of lost battles, misunderstood pioneers, outlandish theories, unclassifiable destinies\u2014all that which, alongside the official\u2014and imperial\u2014history of triumphant science, reminds us of the importance of the unexpected, the ridiculous, and the insignificant.”
