11/02 -18h
Workshop duration: 2 hours
The Imagination in Relationships
description
The other person feels emotions, thinks, and reacts physically. Here we are, face to face with a stranger, and our imagination steps in to fill in the gaps, anticipate what might happen, and color our perception of that person. Could it be that empathy originates in the imagination?

Imagination: A Superpower!

We are all superheroes. Our power takes the form of mental images that influence our bodies, our view of the world, and our view of others. This extraordinary power can transcend the realm of fiction and spill over into reality.

What would happen if…?
description
Drawing on Gianni Rodari’s The Grammar of Imagination, we will explore imaginary worlds and the extent of our mind’s power to project itself into places we might otherwise consider unimaginable. What would happen if we shared a cup of tea and the water seeped out through every pore of our skin?

Anarchy in Usage and Language

“This Is Not a Pipe”—or rather, “The Betrayal of Images”: Magritte invites us to
look more closely, to reflect on the words we use, what they signify, and the limits of
our vision. Is a chair really just a chair? Is it truly called a chair? We’ll dive headfirst into the text and read between the lines.
