CRISS CROSSING
The CRISS CROSSING architecture studio explores the processes of creating space and architecture, challenging the traditional practices of a profession in need of reinvention. CRISS CROSSING aspires to break free from a hierarchical production chain that completely disregards users’ needs, the impact on the environment, and the importance of collective intelligence and collaboration. It thus seeks to practice its profession according to its own rules. A true experience of “imaginary emancipation,” CRISS CROSSING challenges the rigidity of a long-established discipline.
Between 2010 and 2015, the studio founded by Julie Heyde never ceased to seek new approaches and to practice architecture in an unconventional way. After five years at the firm and ten as a project manager, it has become clear that stepping outside the discipline is necessary to imagine new ways of working. DVTup is taking shape in Julie’s mind.
